Heart leaf philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum), golden pothos (Epipremnum aureum), and sweetheart hoya (Hoya kerrii) are easy to grow indoor plants with heart-shaped leaves. Heart leaf philodendron has glossy, dark green leaves on twining stems that will trail or climb when trained and tied to a support (Figure 2).

Heart-shaped leaves are intrinsic to the beauty of Cercidiphyllum japonicum; katsura-tree, the common name, is borrowed from the Japanese name for the tree. Cercidiphyllum means having leaves like Cercis, the redbud tree, which also has heart-shaped (cordate) leaves.
